Who Made the First Smartphone
Frank J. Canova is credited as the inventor of the first smartphone.
Frank was working for IBM an electronics designer when he came up with the idea of creating a smartphone in 1990.
He realized that advancements in electronics and wireless technology had shrunk the components to sizes that could be used in mobile devices.
The mobile devices (at that particular time)/then were wireless phones and PDAs.
By 1992, Frank and his team were able to develop and showcase a prototype called “Angler”.
They later released the production version in 1994 called “Simon Personal Communicator” that was marketed and sold by BellSouth.
